Under Construction

"The mission of The Lazz is to bridge forty years of musical heritage with the frontier of modern technology to explore the depths of the human psyche. We are dedicated to the rebirth of dormant compositions—some held for decades—by fusing authentic, veteran guitar and bass performances with the precision of AI-assisted production. Moving beyond traditional rock tropes, we aim to provide a high-impact sonic experience that inspires self-discovery, deeper thinking, and intellectual honesty."
Authentic Foundation: Every track is anchored by live guitar and bass performances, honoring a craft started in 1982 and refined through decades of live stage experience.
Purposeful Technology: We embrace AI not as a replacement for the artist, but as a sophisticated session band that allows a solo composer to achieve a full, contemporary rock sound from a high-end San Diego studio.
Psychological Depth: Our lyrics prioritize the exploration of the internal human experience over commercial clichés, seeking to connect with listeners who value music that challenges the mind as much as it moves the soul.
Ben Lazzaro’s musical identity was forged in 1982, the year he first picked up a guitar. Over the next four decades, he lived through the evolving landscape of the music industry—performing in various genres across live stages from 1986 to 2008 and relentlessly writing and recording his own compositions. Ben balanced this creative fire with a disciplined 13-year career, making AAA video and computer games as an artist for various top tier game companies. This demonstrates a trutestament to the persistence that defines his work today.
Like many "actual" musicians who have weathered the trials and tribulations of the industry, Ben initially thumbed his nose at AI-created music. His first instinct was that it lacked the soul of a true player. However, as a long-time composer, he realized that AI was not a passing trend, but a permanent shift in the landscape. Rather than remaining jaded, Ben chose to embrace the technology as a way to unlock a massive catalog of dormant music written over 40 years that had never been completed or professionally recorded.
The Lazz is the result of this "Human-First" hybrid approach. Utilizing a high-end custom PC setup and home studio, Ben serves as the architect, playing all acoustic, electric, and bass guitar parts himself to ensure the music maintains its authentic soul. He then utilizes AI as his session band—polishing vocal performances and sonics to bring 20-year-old copyrights into the modern era.
For Ben, The Lazz is about reclaiming ownership of his creative history. By blending 1982 grit with 2026 technology, he is proving that you can embrace the "new age" without losing your authenticity. This isn't just rock music; it is a deep-thinking exploration of the human psyche, delivered by a man who has seen the industry from every angle.
